SMS program & opt-in
How the CallLocally SMS program works, how callers opt in by replying YES, and how to opt out at any time by replying STOP.
About the program
CallLocally helps independent home service contractors — plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, roofers, and similar trades — follow up with callers they missed. If you called a contractor who uses CallLocally and they couldn't pick up, this is the SMS program that lets them get back to you by text.
Every text is a direct response to a call you placed. We do not send marketing, promotional, or recurring messages on this program.
How you reached the contractor
End users obtain the contractor's phone number from public sources such as the contractor's Google Business Profile, vehicle wraps, yard signs, business cards, or referrals from friends and family, and dial that number directly to request service. CallLocally does not publish, distribute, share, or sell contractor phone numbers — we only process inbound calls that you have voluntarily placed to a contractor whose number you already have.
When the contractor can't answer in the moment, their carrier forwards the unanswered call to a dedicated number assigned to that contractor through CallLocally. We then send you a text from that dedicated number so the contractor can follow up about your service request.
How you opt in
Consent is granted through a double opt-in flow. The act of calling the contractor signals interest, but no service messages are sent until you explicitly reply YES.
Only after you reply YES does the contractor's system send a follow-up asking for your service need and address. Once you provide those details, the contractor is notified and reaches back out directly.
Your YES reply is your explicit consent to receive transactional follow-up messages from the contractor regarding the service request you initiated. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP.
What you'll receive
You'll only receive messages in one of these categories:
- An initial missed-call notification asking whether you'd like the contractor to follow up.
- A follow-up requesting your service need and address, sent only after you reply YES.
- Confirmation that the contractor has received your details.
- Help and opt-out confirmations sent in response to HELP or STOP.
Messages come from a dedicated phone number assigned to the specific contractor you called. Different contractors send from different numbers.
Frequency
Typical frequency is 2–4 messages per service inquiry. Messages are sent only in response to a call you placed followed by your YES reply. There is no recurring schedule and no automated re-engagement.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. We'll send a single confirmation that you've been unsubscribed, and you won't receive any further messages from that contractor's CallLocally number.
If you opt out and later want to receive messages from the same contractor again, call them and reply YES to the missed-call message to re-subscribe.
Getting help
Reply HELP to any message for assistance. You can also email hello@calllocally.com and we'll get back to you within one business day.
Costs
CallLocally doesn't charge end users anything to use this SMS program. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply depending on your mobile plan.
Privacy
Phone numbers and conversation contents are used solely to deliver the missed-call follow-up to the contractor you called. We do not sell phone numbers, do not share them with third parties for marketing purposes, and do not use them for any other SMS program.
Full data handling practices are in our privacy policy.
